May 4th - May 6th Renvyle Peninsula, Co. Galway. This is the sixth year that the Mussel Fest is being held in Tully Cross and Tully on the Renvyle Penninsula, and every pub serves fresh Killary Mussels from Marty Nee’s company Purple Spade Ltd, delivered by Duane’s Seafood Ltd. There is a weekend packed full of activities to look forward to on the May Bank Holiday weekend to suit everyone.

The Connemara Adventure Challenge will take place on Saturday the 12th of May. The race will take the format of Gaelforce West with 3 disciplines; trail/mountain running (walking and jogging also accepted!), Kayaking and cycling. The whole challenge will operate from the Killary Adventure Centre which is a short walk from The Connemara Hostel.

Traditional Curragh racing can be seen on Killary Harbour. Large numbers of people come to see teams of rowers compete on the fjord. The competitors travel from all along the West Coast to demonstrate their skill and prowess in the use of these ancient sea-fishing boats.
